Web Mails and FTP is not working

Web Mails and FTP is Not Working: Today, I got a ticket from one of our new client Raman complaining about he is not able to receive e-mails in his webmail account.

Before taking any further steps we tried to check his account by creating demo e-mail address under his domain name.

I send an e-mail to demo@ xxx.in from my gmail account account and got this error..

Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain your domain by SMTP.server domain (xx.xx.x.xx)

When we analyzed DNS records of his domain name using whois look tool, we noticed that domain name is pointing to GoDaddy server.

But Raman said he is not getting these kind of error message in his GoogieHost’s control panel which is normally visible.

Please do understand that sometimes yo0ur domain registrar and our hosting server takes at least 24 hours for propagation, and make your domain name functional properly.

Solution

If you dind’t changed name servers of your domain name to googiehost’s name servers, please update your records as-

  • free5.googiehost.com
  • free6.googiehost.com

Please allow at least 24 hours for DNS propagation, after 24 hours your e-mails and FTP accounts will start working fine.

And if you are using A record for your hosting account then please update A records for MX and FTP records as well.

FAQs

Why is my webmail not working on free hosting?

The most common reason is that your domain nameservers are not pointing to GoogieHost servers. Update your nameservers to free5.googiehost.com and free6.googiehost.com, then wait up to 24 hours for DNS propagation.

How long does DNS propagation take?

DNS propagation typically takes up to 24 hours, though it can sometimes complete in a few hours. During this time, your email and FTP services may not work properly.

What should I do if I use A records instead of nameservers?

If you use A records for your hosting, you also need to update the MX records (for email) and FTP records at your domain registrar. Without correct MX records, emails will not be delivered to your hosting account.

Why am I getting a rejected email error from Google?

This error means your domain MX records still point to a different server (like GoDaddy). Google cannot deliver emails because the receiving server rejects them. Update your nameservers or MX records to point to GoogieHost.

How can I check my domain DNS records?

You can check your domain DNS records using a WHOIS lookup tool or DNS checker websites. These tools show where your domain nameservers, A records, and MX records are currently pointing, helping you identify configuration issues.
