There was a time when only programmers could create websites. At that time, general public had to hire someone in order to make websites as well as to publish content on it. But the condition has changed a lot today.
Thanks to Content Management Systems, now you do not need to write even a single line of code to create websites.
Joomla is one of the most used CMS (Content Management System) in the world. It allows the webmasters to easily manage content, install plugins and monitor everything. Installing this great platform on your website is pretty easy via Softaculous from GoogieHost panel.
Follow the following steps for a successful installation of Joomla:
- Login to the cPanel of your website
- Under Software section click on Softaculous Apps Installer
- Upon hovering the cursor on Joomla box, an Install button will appear, click on it
- On the new page, fill out the form with all the required information
Be sure to choose the right Joomla version that suits your requirements.
Leave the directory textfield blank if you want to install Joomla at the root of your website.
Site name and site description can be changed even after the installation process via accessing the Joomla admin panel.
Just below the Install button, there is a textfield in which you can fill out your Email ID. After the installation, Softaculous sends the installation details on this email.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Install button
Now Softaculous will take a few moments to install the package and create a database for it, so be patient. When it completes, you will be presented with the address of Joomla installation and the address of Joomla admin panel.
Normally, Joomla admin panel address looks somewhat like this: yourwebsite.com/administrator
Be sure to refer to Joomla’s official documentation as it is the best source on how to use the Joomla admin panel.
