How to Install cPanel VPS Optimized on CentOS

These days we all prefer own VPS server for a website or blog instead of having shared hosting with irritating provider. As you know its not so easy to setup a Virtual Control Panel (VPS) for your personal usage until you do not know its basic commands.

Installing cPanel VPS Optimized on CentOS:

cPanel is most popular control panel for everyone to build a great website or blog with easy tools. There are more than 10 control panels available on the internet which can be installed on your VPS however we recommend you to choose cPanel or if you do not have much amount to get its license you may go with Webuzo control panel.

Why CentOS for VPS?

CentOS is one of the best operating system for your Virtual Servers . If you are looking for stable and hassle free operating system then believe me CentOS would be great choice for you but always keep in mind that you choose latest version for it.

Minimum Requirements of server:

  • 500MHz CPU
  • 512MB RAM
  • 10GB free disk space
  • CentOS 5.x installation

Installation Command Guide:

cPanel installation need to execute couple of commands and it will take 1-2hours totally depends on your server configuration.

yum install perl
cd /home
wget -N
sh latest

Setting Finalizing:

After all you done, now you need to configure your admin or user panel. Directly login to your WHM account with http://your.IP:2087 for example http://xx.xx.x.x:2087 and you are willing to login to configure or customize your cPanel which can be accessible right here- http://xx.xx.xx.x:2086.

Note: Before you start you need to login into your root account and configure your cPanel license before you start.
